If you are reading this, you are thinking about divorce or perhaps are already involved in legal proceedings. Or maybe you have already divorced and have new problems to work out. I offer guidance and a path to settlement.
A successful divorce is not one where you “win” money and parenting time. A successful divorce is one that resolves matters so that you can get on with your life. Ideally that means with your fair share of resources and equitable parenting time; and, if you are really fortunate, a cordial enough relationship with your ex so that sharing the children is not stressful.
As a family law attorney for over 30 years, with a Ph.D. in psychology, I understand how to connect emotional needs and legal issues to best help my clients. I will guide you to resolve conflicts and create a settlement agreement that is a win-win for both you and your family.
I have a deep understanding of the needs of children. With a Masters Degree in Developmental Psychology, years of work as a child advocate for children in foster care and juvenile detention, and my work with high conflict families, I am uniquely trained and experienced to help you create a healthy two-household family for your children.
I also offer divorce coaching for my clients to manage stress, find clarity of purpose and goals, and prepare for mediation or court. I bring to my work a breadth and depth of experience as an attorney and therapist.
In addition, I provide legal consultation to family law attorneys who need my expertise preparing trial examinations of mental health experts, managing high conflict divorce clients, or addressing complex international family law issues.
Divorce is not just a legal process. It is a personal process of transformation. You must make important decisions when you may feel emotionally depleted and uncertain about the future, maybe you are angry or scared. Or perhaps you feel strong and certain, yet want to carefully consider your personal and legal options.
I exclusively practice family law, and also represent children in high conflict divorces. After many years as a litigator, my work now is devoted to conflict resolution through mediation, settlement negotiations and collaborative divorce. If you are considering divorce, early strategic legal planning can set the groundwork for a cordial divorce process.
A settlement oriented divorce will save you money, time and heartache; and set you on a path for cooperative co-parenting.
